👋 Hello Families, My name is Selvina, and I have over 12 years of experience working with children of all ages. For the past four years, I’ve worked as an Assistant Director in early childhood education, supporting children from 6 weeks old through to 4-year-old kindergarten. I’ve also taught Grade 1 and Grade 2, giving me a well-rounded understanding of children's development and learning across various stages. 🌱 My Approach I value structure, routine, and consistency as the foundation of a child’s sense of security and wellbeing. I take the time to understand each child’s home routine so I can mirror it in my care, helping them feel safe, supported, and respected. At the same time, I believe in giving children the space to build trust at their own pace. I’m warm and engaging in play, while encouraging independence — because children thrive when they feel safe but also free to explore and learn. I strongly support age-appropriate risk-taking and learning through natural consequences. I believe children are capable and competent, and I encourage them to make choices, solve problems, and test their abilities — all within clear and supportive boundaries.
